KH Hair named as finalists at national business awards
Nottingham’s finest through to finals of the ‘Oscars’ of the hairdressing industry
KH Hair is celebrating after three of its team were named finalists at HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards 2023.
The prestigious annual awards event, widely regarded as ‘The Oscars’ of the hairdressing industry, recognises the names that have achieved business brilliance, helping to uphold Britain’s reputation as a world leader in hairdressing expertise.
Sean and Debbie McMenamin, salon directors at KH Hair Nottingham, are finalists in the Franchisee of the Year category and Jessica Neil, creative director at KH Hair West Bridgford, has been shortlisted for the Salon Stylist of the Year Award. The trio reached the finals after submitting attention-grabbing entries, detailing the skills and experience that have contributed to their career success to date. Following an intensive judging process, they will now attend the 25th British Hairdressing Business Awards, held this year on Monday 3 July at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.
Sean and Debbie say they were absolutely thrilled when they got the news. “We are very humbled to have been chosen as finalists,” they said. “We’d like to say a huge thank you to the judges and an even bigger thank you to our awesome team who inspire us every day with their amazing teamwork and talent. And, of course, a big shout out to our wonderful clients for helping us to continue doing what we all love on a daily basis.”
Jessica, who now faces an in-depth interview with a panel of expert judges before the main awards ceremony, is equally thrilled. “I’m absolutely over the moon to have reached the finals of such a prestigious awards event. It’s a huge honour,” she said. “To be recognised for all of my hard work, dedication and passion to the industry means the world to me and I’m really excited for the finals in London in July.”
KH Hair Group’s managing director, Darren Messias, added: “I am absolutely delighted that Debbie, Sean and Jessica have finalised in the British Hairdressing Business Awards. Debbie and Sean live and breathe their business and invest all of their time, passion and care into their team, and this shows in the quality and strength of what they all produce on a day-to-day basis. Jessica works so hard, not only as a very busy style director in the salon, but also as an integral part of the KH Hair Creative Team, so this recognition is thoroughly well-deserved. I am incredibly proud that they are part of our KH Hair franchise family and I wish them lots of luck for the final in July.”
A total of 17 trophies will be awarded at the event, which was launched in 1998 and has previously honoured names including Trevor Sorbie, TONI&GUY, Sophia Hilton, Colin McAndrew and Casey Coleman.
Jayne Lewis-Orr, executive director of the British Hairdressing Business Awards says: “The Awards are an annual celebration of business acumen, and the people and companies going the extra mile to ensure that creativity and commercial success go hand in hand. Once again, our judging panel was overwhelmed with the standard of entries. Sean, Debbie and Jessica should feel incredibly proud to have finalised alongside such impressive talent.”
